Leafbook (“we”, “us”, or “our”) cares deeply about the privacy of its users. This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have as a user. This policy applies to the Leafbook app and the associated website (together, the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to the processing of your personal data as described in this policy.
1. What data do we collect?
Account data
When you create an account, we collect the following information:

To deliver the service, we store the content you create in the app:

When you use voice memos or other recording features in the app, audio (or data derived from it) may be sent to ElevenLabs, our provider for speech and audio processing. See also section 3.

2. How do we use your data?
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- Providing the service: storing and syncing your memories and collections.
- Account and authentication management: securely signing in to your account.
- Sharing content: enabling shared collections when you choose to.
- Improving the service: analysing anonymised usage to make the app better.
- Customer support: answering questions and requests.
- Legal obligations: compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
3. Who do we share your data with?
We never sell your personal data to third parties. We only share data in the following cases:
- Service providers: we use trusted technology partners for hosting, storage (including Firebase/Google Cloud), and analytics. These parties act solely on behalf of Leafbook and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- ElevenLabs (voice and recordings): if you create voice memos or record audio, that content (or data derived from it) may be provided to ElevenLabs for processing, such as transcription or other speech-related features offered in the app. ElevenLabs processes this information as a processor acting on our instructions; please also refer to ElevenLabs’ privacy policy for how they handle audio that is processed.
- Other users (when you enable it): if you share a collection with other Leafbook users, they have access to the content of that collection.
- Legal obligation: when we are required to disclose data by court order or applicable law.
4. Retention
We retain your personal data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app; sign-in is disabled immediately and your data is permanently erased from our systems within 15 days, unless we are legally required to keep it longer.
5. Security and storage location
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. All communication between the app and our servers uses encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed.
Data that Leafbook manages and hosts for you (such as account information and content you store in the app) is stored in Europe, typically within the European Union. Processing by certain service providers (as described in section 3, for example for speech/audio) may also take place outside the EU under their own terms; please refer to their privacy information for details.

As a user, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
